An Official Letter of Appointment (OLA) is issued by the Provost and Executive Vice-President (Academic), acting on behalf of the Board of Governors of McGill University, for ranked academic staff.
For a new staff member, their OLA and the Regulations Relating to the Employment of Tenure Track and Tenured Academic Staff (for academic staff) or the Regulations Relating to the Employment of Librarian Staff (for librarian staff), form the individual’s contract with the University.
Once the OLA is issued, the department initiates the hire business process in Workday.Â
