Overview: This workshop will give an overview of the foundations of programming in R.
At the end of the workshop, you will:
听听 > Become familiar with the integrated development environment RStudio
听听 > Understand the different types of variables in R (data types and data structures)
听听 > Be able to write simple scripts
听听 > Understand how to load and use libraries
听听 > Be able to use control flow to automate your scripts
听听 > Know how to get help
Prerequisites:
听听听听听 路 Knowledge of filesystems would be helpful (e.g. from Understanding filesystems workshop).
听听听听听 路 Install R and RStudio on your computer. You can find installation instructions here. Please contact us (cdsi.science [at] mcgill.ca) if you are having trouble with installation.
听听听听听 路 You need to bring your own laptop for this workshop. Contact us if you would like to attend but it's impossible for you to bring a laptop to this workshop.
