It is with great pride that we announce that Dr Maxine Dumas Pilon has recently accepted the position of President Elect of the Québec College of Family Physicians (QCFP) . Dr Dumas Pilon will be the first president from McGill since Richard Handfield–Jones (1989 -1990). Her mandate as a president will start at the QCFP Annual General Meeting during the Family Medicine Forum in Québec City next Fall.
Dr Dumas Pilon practices family medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital. She is the mother of three beloved children. She has been the Program Director of the Family Medicine Mother and Child Enhanced Skills Program at McGill as well as the co-chair of the “Table de concertation en obstétrique du RUIS McGill” since 2010. She co-lead multiple initiatives including the creation of the Family Medicine Breastfeeding Clinic, the Newborn Medicine Rotation and the Projet d’expansion de la Périnatalité du Centre hospitalier de St. Mary’s. She recently started exploring the world of research in the domains of continuity of care and group prenatal care.
