Hoi Kong appointed Associate Dean (Academic)
We are pleased to announce that Professor Hoi Kong has accepted to serve the Faculty as Associate Dean (Academic) for a two-year term starting September 1st, 2014.
As Dean Daniel Jutras indicated, “Hoi has agreed to take on this important task as we begin a most important stage in our undergraduate program review and overhaul. Hoi’s commitment to our students is undeniable (as attested by the John W. Durnford Award he received last year), and his creativity and rigor in thinking about pedagogy and curriculum will be precious over the course of the next two years.”
Professor Kong will be replacing Professor Jaye Ellis, who has served as Associate Dean (Academic) since 2011. Dean Jutras expressed how fortunate the Faculty has been to be able to rely on Professor Ellis over the past years: “Her calm, dedication and wisdom have served us well.”
The Faculty is grateful to Hoi and Jaye for their energy, intelligence and enthusiasm.
The office of the Associate Dean (Academic) is located on the 4th floor of New Chancellor Day Hall.
