Important announcement for applicants to the MDCM & Joint Programs regarding your Application Checklist

Published: 15 November 2011

Under normal circumstances, applicants are encouraged to verify their application status via the Application Checklist in Minerva. However, due to the exceptional circumstance of the ongoing labour disruption at McGill, we have had to prioritize the substantive evaluation of applications over the maintenance of the Application Checklist.

What does this mean for you? Your Faculty of Medicine application checklist is *NOT* being updated with respect to standard elements of the application, such as:

  • Advanced Placement Exam Result
  • AL Results Directly from Board
  • A-Level Estimated/Final Grades
  • C.V. data w/Highlight text
  • CEGEP Electronic Transcript
  • College/University Transcript
  • French Bacc Exam Results
  • IB Final Exam Results
  • List of Referees
  • Medicine Self-Reported Grades
  • Personal Narrative w/Abstract
  • Proof of Citizenship/Perm Res
  • Research Proposal/Abstract(s)

For these elements, we ask that you retain any proof of submission or delivery that you may have for your records.

NB: Preliminary evaluation of academic performance is being conducted on the basis of your self-reported grades. Validation of official transcripts and verification of referee reports will take place later in the process. If any element of your application is missing or requires follow up, our office will communicate with you directly.

Your Faculty of Medicine application checklist *IS* being updated with respect to more specific elements of your application, such as:

  • Graduation Requirements
  • Letter of Exten. Circumstances
  • List of Intended Courses
  • Math/Science Crse Descriptions
  • MCAT Results
  • Proof of Degree Completion
  • Proof of English Proficiency

For these elements, we anticipate that checklists will be updated by Friday, 25 November.

IMPORTANT: Verify the status of your MCAT results.

If "MCAT Results" appears on your checklist, this means that your MCAT results will be taken into consideration in the evaluation of your application.Ìý ÌýIf this is correct, no action is required.Ìý If, according to our policy (cf /medadmissions/applying/general-requirements/mcat), the MCAT is optional for you, and you DO NOT wish to have your MCAT results considered, use the Request for MCAT Removal e-mail template found at /medadmissions/help.

We thank you for your understanding during these difficult times.
