International Medical Graduates who are Residents of Québec
A pathway to practice for international (non-North American) medical graduates who are residents of Quebec.
The Faculty of Medicine is pleased to announce that it will be accepting applications from international non-North American medical graduates (IMGs) who are residents of Québec for admission into the M.D.,C.M. program with advanced standing.Ìý Applicants admitted via this category will have the requirement for the Basis of Medicine component (BOM) of the M.D.,C.M. program waived and will enter the program at the Introduction to Clinical Medicine (ICM) component, starting in May of Year-2.ÌýÌý Successful students will continue into the clerkships and graduate with an M.D.,C.M. degree from McGill.Ìý The number of positions available is contingent on the number of attritions from previous years, will vary and may include years where there are no positions available.
To be eligible, applicants must hold a medical degree from an accredited medical school recognized by the World Health Organization, must complete the Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Exam (MCCEE), and must provide proof of English or French proficiency.Ìý Details are found in the next section.
File screening will be based upon the evaluation of eligibility (through the Quebec residency and foreign medical training criteria defined above), followed by an evaluation of the applicant's file (MCCEE results, transcripts, CV and personal narrative).Ìý Candidates whose files are judged to be competitive at this screening stage will be invited to our multiple mini-interviews.
