SUBJECT: Message to McGill Researchers on Labour Disruption

Dear Colleagues,

I write to emphasize with each of you that my office understands that research is one of the pillars of McGill and its standing as a leading university. We are all very proud of our research history, culture and strengths, as well we should be.

As this strike continues, I am greatly concerned about the effects on morale and the resulting stress it is causing within our community. I know major efforts are being made by researchers and their labs to keep our research endeavours at the forefront. Research is at the heart of our values, and we recognize and appreciate your extraordinary dedication.

Please know that my office is doing what it can to help us get through this difficult time. We are working with deans and chairs, as well as the senior executive, to ensure you have the resources to keep our scholarship moving forward.

If you have suggestions about how this support can be improved, please do not hesitate to share them with me. Feel free to contact me at rose.goldstein [at] mcgill.ca.

Ìý

Sincerely,

Dr. Rose Goldstein
Vice-Principal (Research and International Relations)
