The workshop will consist of a series of short presentations on individual case studies (texts, events, objects, monuments, etc.) followed by group discussion. We are especially eager to involve graduate students in this workshop and to that end the RGGP will offer a series of Global Pasts student stipends to support graduate research.</p></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-published-date field-type-datestamp field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><div class="custom-multi-date"><div class="multi-date first"><span class="label">Published: </span><span class="day">24 </span><span class="month">April </span><span class="year">2024</span></div></div></div></div></div> Wed, 24 Apr 2024 14:12:02 +0000 webfull 199727 at /channels ISID congratulates Professor Jacob Blanc on his new book, "The Prestes Column" /channels/channels/news/isid-congratulates-professor-jacob-blanc-his-new-book-prestes-column-355449 <div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>Professor Jacob Blanc of the Institute for the Study of International Development and the Department of History has had a new book published with Duke University Press.  In <i>The Prestes Column</i>, Jacob Blanc offers a new interpretation of the legendary rebellion, in which a band of rebel officers and soldiers marched fifteen thousand miles through the vast interior regions of Brazil between 1924 and 1927.</p></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-primary-image field-type-image field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><img class="no-float" src="/channels/files/channels/styles/wysiwyg_medium/public/channels/image/prestes.png?itok=tIKqD0IC" width="160" height="249" /></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-published-date field-type-datestamp field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><div class="custom-multi-date"><div class="multi-date first"><span class="label">Published: </span><span class="day">15 </span><span class="month">February </span><span class="year">2024</span></div></div></div></div></div> Thu, 15 Feb 2024 15:42:54 +0000 webfull 197814 at /channels Professor Dunsworth co-edits series on historians and the climate emergency /channels/channels/news/professor-dunsworth-co-edits-series-historians-and-climate-emergency-333271 <div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>Professor Edward Dunsworth is co-editing a blog series, <a href="http://activehistory.ca/2021/09/historians-confront-the-climate-emergency-series-introduction/">Historians Confront the Climate Emergency</a>, with Prof. Daniel Macfarlane of Western Michigan University.
