Dr. Hadas Dahary earned her Ph.D. in School/Applied Child Psychology at McGill University under the supervision of Dr. Eve-Marie Quintin. Her doctoral research was supported by the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Doctoral Scholarship and competitive national autism research training initiatives, including the Quebec Autism Research Training (ART) Program, offered by the Azrieli Centre for Autism Research (ACAR) and the Transforming Autism Care Consortium (TACC) in Montreal.

Dr.ĚýVictoria Talwar, Canada Research Chair in ECP and the Faculty of Education's Interim Dean, was interviewed on CTV News on the screen times of both adults and children, and the effects it can have on kids.

The research on children's screen time has shown that less is more, however when it comes to a child’s development, parents should spend less time worrying about their kids’ screen time and focus more on reducing their own.

Dr. Kristy A. Robinson, Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, has received the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) President’s New Researcher Award.

She will accept the award at this year's CPA convention in Ottawa (June 21-23), where she will also deliver an invited talk on her work.

This award recognizes the exceptional quality of her contributions to psychological knowledge in Canada as an early career researcher.

In an interview with CBC News, Dr. Krista Muis, ECP, discusses the use of deepfakes to foster learning in mathematics. Math lessons from deepfakes with Dr. Drake and Queen Elizabeth are buzzing on TikTok. But do they foster learning and understanding of complex mathematics concepts?

Dr. Muis discusses the use of these deepfakes, highlighting an initial increase in motivation and attention can be beneficial but is not enough. The spread of misconceptions and the quality of the information presented is a concern.

Participate in Study on Moving Beyond “Good vs. Evil”

The Science and Practice in Psychology research lab is inviting university students to participate in a brief ANONYMOUS survey approved by McGill’s Research Ethics Board.

Help them find out which potentially controversial socio-political topics could be discussed in the university context.

They are also trying to better understand some beliefs and attitudes that could get in the way or facilitate genuine dialogue.
