McGill honours its accomplished researchers with Distinguished James McGill Professor, James McGill Professor, and William Dawson Scholars awards.

It is with great pride that the Faculty of Law has learned that the McGill Law cohort earned top place at the 脡cole du Barreau鈥檚 exams for 2022-2023. A remarkable 97.3% of McGill Law graduates without preparatory courses passed the assessments, as did 100% of the graduates who took preparatory courses. This outstanding result was achieved in a particularly strong year, in which all law schools saw increases to their pass rates.

The Faculty of Law was once again ranked among the world鈥檚 top universities at which to study law by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject in Law and Legal Studies placed McGill Law 28th worldwide, up one spot from 2023.

Since QS introduced the ranking in 2011, the Faculty of Law has consistently placed in the top 35 institutions globally. The QS ranking is based on academic reputation, employer reputation, H-index citations, and citations per paper.

The Faculty of Law is delighted to announce that Dean Robert Leckey, Ad E, has received an honorary Scarlet Key from McGill鈥檚 century-old Scarlet Key Society. He was presented with the award at the Society鈥檚 annual key-pinning ceremony on 20 March.

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce new and renewed support from the prestigious Canada Research Chair program for two professors.

Professor Jonas-S茅bastien Beaudry has been named Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Health, Inclusion and Policy for a five-year term.

Professor Adelle Blackett, FRSC, Ad E, has been reappointed as Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Transnational Labour Law for a second seven-year term.

Thanks to the generosity of Sophie Nappert (BCL鈥�86, LLB鈥�86), the Nappert Prize in International Arbitration is celebrating 10 years since its inauguration in 2014. The prize will be awarded by McGill University for the sixth time in 2024.
