The finalists were selected for their demonstrated academic excellence, leadership and commitment, as well as their openness to multiple perspectives, boldness and resilience.

McGill University’s Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) has released a statement regarding the remains of 215 Indigenous children that were found at a former residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia.

In addition, the Council of Canadian Law Deans (CCLD), presided by Dean Robert Leckey, has also  on the matter.

The Faculty of Law is delighted to announce that it will welcome four new members in the 2021-2022 academic year.

Joshua Nichols will join the Faculty on 1 August 2021 as an assistant professor. Sarah Riley Case will begin a one-year term as a Boulton Junior Fellow on 1 August 2021, before taking up the role of assistant professor effective 1 August 2022. Priya Gupta will begin as an associate professor on 1 August 2021, following a year-long term as a Senior Wainwright Fellow.

The Faculty of Law of McGill University and the Peter MacKell Chair in Federalism are delighted to announce the winners of the 2020-2021 Baxter Family Competition on Federalism, organized by Professor Johanne Poirier.

For the first time, the Competition was open to authors from the disciplines of law or political science. This edition’s overall theme was Federalism, Identity and Public Policy in Challenging Times.
