D2R Webinar: Advancements in Genomics, RNA and Nanomedicine
Join D2R for a virtual webinar where we delve into the forefront of RNA and genomics research with experts from McGill and UBC. Discover cutting-edge advancements and insights directly from the researchers shaping the future of nanomedicine, RNA therapy development, and genomic innovation.
Presentations will include:
- Advancements in Genomic Research by Ioannis Ragoussis, Head of Genome Sciences, McGill Genome Centre
- Advances in genome analysis technologies facilitate the analysis of genomes and transcriptomes at unprecedented resolution, while also becoming applicable in the field of RNA therapeutics production. We will discuss fourth generation long read sequencing technologies for the analysis of single DNA and RNA molecules, as well as advances in technologies to deliver the cost effective and highly accurate sequence of genomes. Finally, we will discuss how the development of single cell and spatial genomics technologies in combination with the new sequencing technologies enable new insights into organism biology.
- McGill's platforms in RNA Therapeutic Development and the new DePTAQ Services NetworkÌýby Thomas Duchaine, Founding Director of McGill’s Centre for RNA Sciences
- Prof. Duchaine will feature the technology platforms that will translate discovery in RNA at McGill in the genome-oriented precision therapeutics as part ofÌýD2RÌýprograms. He will further introduce new partnerships in RNA therapeutics and bioproduction recently established within the province.
- Nanocore, unlocking the power of Nanomedicine by Pieter Cullis, Professor, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of British Columbia
- This presentation will consist of two parts, first an overview of the lipid nanoparticle technology that continues to unlock the revolutionary potential of gene therapies by Pieter Cullis (15 min) and then a description of NanoCore by Karen Chan (20 min) including the services it provides and a brief summary of some of the projects it has undertaken. A background reference to the evolution of LNPs can be found at the link:
Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with leaders in the field and gain insights that could help your research. This event is open to D2R community members doing RNA-related research.
Confirmation emails will be provided to registered participants a few days before the event.
