Established in 2009 by Vincent and Sabina Tassone along with friends and family, in memory of their son Adriano Tassone, to help students who have completed U1 and/or U2 in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education (KPE) in the Faculty of Education gain practical and research experience in Kinesiology through an internship award.
Value: $5,300 ($2,800 award + $2,500 matching from supervisor)Â

Eligibility:
- Student must have approval from a KPE faculty member to supervise their work before they can apply
- Student must be supervised by a KPE faculty member for 12 weeks, beginning May 1 and ending no later than August 30.
- Minimum CGPA of 3.5
- If CGPA’s are similar then the tie-breaking factor will be the student’s 250-word personal statement that is listed below
- Awards will initially be distributed evenly among each lab. Labs can only receive a second awardee if there are no suitable candidates from other labs applying
- Priority given to students who have not won the award in previous years
Expectations:
- The student cannot receive credits for the work done as part of this award
- The student is expected to work full-time (40 hours per week) in the supervisor’s laboratory for the entire duration of the award.
