Dr. Samaha’ clinical practice is focused on Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgery.
He is involved in the department’s teaching program. Residents complete their facial plastic surgery rotation in his surgical center. In addition, he directs and teaches the yearly McGill Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery course, which is the principal Canadian course in the specialty, grouping faculty from all Canadian programs, and an audience of residents and practicing physicians from across Canada and internationally. His additional teaching activities include lectures, clinical teaching and supervising resident research projects.
Dr. Samaha leads a humanitarian surgical mission to the West Indies yearly and takes part in another similar yearly mission to Southeast Asia (Vietnam) , performing reconstructive surgery and teaching local surgeons and residents.
He serves on the executive board of the Canadian Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as the Secretary and Treasurer; and on the board of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as the Canadian representative.
Dr. Samaha has authored teaching videos on advanced surgical techniques which have become widely used as a guide and learning resource by residents and practicing surgeons.
His clinical and surgical activities take place at his surgical center and consist of surgical and non-surgical esthetic procedures. His research interests include technical innovations in facial plastic surgery, outcomes and satisfaction measures in facial plastic surgery.
