Program Description

The Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Pathology (Thesis) offered by the Department of Pathology in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences is a research-intensive program that emphasizes dynamic and advanced learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in critical reading, data analysis, and scientific communication to either continue their studies or pursue professional opportunities.

Unique Program Features

  • The program offers research training in areas such as cancer research, including the fundamental biology of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, brain tumors, soft tissue tumors, and the mechanisms of metastasis. Additional areas include immunology and transplantation, autoimmune disorders, ophthalmic pathology, stem cell biology, pulmonary disease, neurodegenerative disorders, smooth muscle pathophysiology, and the genomic biology of cancer;
  • Students learn modern techniques and utilize equipment such as light, fluorescence, and electron microscopy (both transmission and scanning), laser capture, flow cytometry, DNA, RNA, protein analysis, cell culture, advanced immunological, pharmacological, biochemical, and physiological techniques, as well as morphometry and computer-aided analysis.

University-Level Admission Requirements

  • An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
  • English-language proficiency
