LAURA ELBAZ, MD, CCFP: Is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and an associate member of the Institute of Health Sciences Education at McGill University. Dr. Elbaz is an emerging scholar in health professions education, currently holding the Class of 1974 Faculty Scholar for Teaching Excellence and Innovation in Medical Education at the IHSE and Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill. With one peer-reviewed publication and several abstracts, she is currently developing expertise in clinical reasoning remediation and theory integration. Her interests also include Indigenous Health and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. She has participated in teaching Indigenous Health curricula both at McGill University and Université de Montréal.
She enjoys a diverse clinical practice at the Herzl Family Practice Center as well as some LOCUM work in the Quebec North with a particular attachment to the Cree community of Whapmagoostui. Dr. Elbaz hopes to continue to work as both a HE scholar and clinician who supports learners in their trajectory to becoming mindful and well supported physicians.
