NATALIE BUU, MDCM, FRCPC is associate professor, Department of Anesthesia. She is a pediatric anesthesiologist at the Montreal Children’s Hospital where she is off-site coordinator, interim acute pain service (APS) director and member of the anesthesiologist-in-charge (AIC) team. She was a member of the oral and written examination board of the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) Anesthesiology Specialty Committee (2008-2013), and Director of the McGill Anesthesia Residency Program from 2014-2023. She was the recipient of the Dr. Deirdre.M.M.Gillies Award in the Teaching of Anesthesia in 2011. She was a member of the Canadian National Anesthesia Simulation Curriculum Taskforce from 2014-2019. She is a member of the Comité pédagogique de la plateforme d’apprentissage en ligne du Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec (FMSQ). She is presently pursuing a Master’s in Health Professions Education (MHPE) at Maastricht University, Netherlands.
Her research interests include selection into postgraduate residency programs, simulation and virtual reality in training of residents, competence committee decision-making processes, curriculum development, competence-based medical education and program evaluation.
