RUTH RUSSELL, MDCM, FRCPC, is Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Assistant Professor of Paediatrics. As a Montreal Children’s Hospital/McGill University Health Centre Paediatric Psychiatrist, her clinical expertise is in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, the psychiatric care of the medically/surgically ill children/adolescents, and their families. She has held multiple leadership positions in the McGill Faculty of Medicine, UGME, and PGME, as well as the Canadian National Specialty Society. As one of the leads in establishing the new Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada subspecialty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, she received the honoured designation of “Founder, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry” in 2012. Her scholarly work in Education includes academic administration (program leadership; curriculum design/review; practice development) and teaching/learning activities (medical students, residents, faculty, continuing professional development, other healthcare professionals). Dr. Russell was one of the honourees for the inaugural year of the Faculty of Medicine Honour List for Educational Excellence.
