Focus Week Workshops are one-credit courses are taught over one week during the Fall & Winter semesters' Focus Weeks, and offers an opportunity for students to critically analyze and develop relevant skills in areas such as negotiation, mediation, project management, community mobilization, policy analysis, empirical research, entrepreneurship, financial analysis, and the like. A Focus Week may also provide an intensive immersion in a particular area of law.Â
The Faculty of Law would like to acknowledge the McCarthy Tétrault Fund for Innovative Legal Education in support of Focus Week Workshops.
Due to the intensive nature of the Focus Week Workshops, attendance is mandatory. All other courses (except 1st year courses) are suspended during Focus Week.

Students cannot withdraw from Focus Week Workshops after the Add/Drop deadline in the semester in which the course is offered.

Please note that due to high demand, limited availability and potentially conflicting scheduling, students wishing to take more than one Focus Week course in any given term should request approval from the SAO before Add/Drop deadline.Â

All standard rules and policies apply to focus week workshops. These include the Student Charter, the University's Student Evaluation Policy policies and regulations of the McGill Faculty of Law. Convenors are strongly encouraged to work closely with the SAO on all administrative aspects of the seminar.
