We are currently experiencing an issue when accessing ProQuest Central links within Discovery (Sofia catalogue). The links are resolving to an error message that reads:
RESOLVED: Technical issue | DeGruyter access down, "unspecified server error" message

The technical issue we were experiencing with聽DeGruyter has been resolved. Thank you for your patience.
The Library is experiencing a technical issue with DeGruyter where access to all links is being blocked, and instead we are seeing an 鈥淯nspecified server error鈥� message.
We are currently working with DeGruyter to restore access and apologize for any inconvenience.
Open Access Agreement | Canadian Science Publishing
The Library is pleased to announce that McGill corresponding authors publishing with five Canadian Science Publishing journals now have the option to make their articles聽open access at no cost.

Library Guides: A new way to curate resources in myCourses
Instructors can now help students connect to research and information resources by adding the Library Guides tool to myCourses. This dynamic tool can be inserted into myCourses in two ways, either directly in the course module and accessible via the left-side menu, or in the course鈥檚 top-level menu. Each course can be connected to pre-assigned subject guides that will populate automatically, or to one or more niche guides curated by the relevant subject librarian.

Starting January 15, 2023, McGill-affiliated corresponding authors will have the聽option to make their work open access for no cost in Wiley鈥檚聽hybrid journals.聽Review the聽list of eligible titles聽(XLS will download).
Exam period access to Nahum Gelber Law Library for Fall 2022
As of Thursday, December 1, McGill students are able to access the Nahum Gelber Law Library 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of McGill University (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the December 7 to 21 examination period.

November 1 | Macdonald Campus Library closes at 5PM
Due to an electrical shutdown, the Macdonald Campus Library will close at 5PM on Tuesday, November 1.聽
This shutdown is necessary for Facilities to relocate an electrical disconnect switch at the Macdonald Stewart Building.

Nov. 15 - 18 | Inspection of Fire Alarms, Sprinklers & Extinguishers at McLennan-Redpath

As part of McGill University鈥檚 ongoing efforts towards ensuring a safe environment, the Fire Prevention service will once again be performing annual inspections of the fire detection and suppression systems. This year聽Leclerc聽will be performing these tests which involve verifying all components of systems within each building.
Building affected: McLennan-Redpath Complex
Designated Conversation & Zoom Zones in Redpath & McLennan Library Buildings
All spaces in the McLennan-Redpath Complex are for quiet study EXCEPT for the following areas.
Zoom and Conversation Zones:- Main floors of both the McLennan and Redpath Library Buildings
- The Cyberth猫que level in the Redpath Library Building
- Elevator landings in the McLennan Library Building聽

Accessing McLennan-Redpath materials during the Collections Centre move-in period
Two major parallel infrastructure projects鈥攁 new Collections Centre and Fiat Lux will transform the quality of services and spaces the Library offers. Library staff members are preparing for the movement of collections, spaces, and services in advance of renovation and construction activities.
