Duke University Law School is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for the Duke-Leiden Institute in Global and Transnational Law to be held in June and July 2019.
The Duke-Leiden Institute, which runs from mid-June to mid-July, offers month-long courses relating to international and comparative law, as well as visits to key international institutions and a variety of other educational and social activities.ÌýClasses are held in the University of Leiden’s elegant modern building in The Hague and are taught jointly by leading faculty from Duke Law School and Leiden Law School. Each student is allowed to take three of the six course offerings, including (for non-U.S. students) a course that provides an introduction to American law. The students come from a variety of countries, providing an opportunity to learn from each other about different legal traditions and cultures.

The Institute is designed for advanced law students from all countries, JD students who have completed at least one year of law study, students preparing to study for an LLM degree in the United States, and judges, academics, practitioners, and other professionals seeking knowledge of American, international, and comparative law.
