McISCE 2024 Summer Internship Research Awards

McISCE is offering $2,500 research awards to support up to 15 Undergraduate Summer Interns.

The award can be used in full or in part to cover the supervisor’s mandatory contribution in an existing program (e.g., SURE, SURA, ARIA) or other operating expenses associated with the Summer Intern’s work.

Eligibility criteria

  • The Supervisor is a McISCE member.
  • The Summer Intern is a McGill student with at least one more semester to complete after S2024.
  • The Summer Intern will work a minimum of 14 weeks, from May 1 to August 31.
  • The project must be energy related.

To apply

  • by March 11, 2024Ěý(5:00pm).
  • You will need to provide a short description of the project and its title. (Less than 100 words).
  • Ensure the project and student meet the eligibility criteria. Award decisions will be announced by March 25, 2024, at the latest. The $2,500 will be transferred to the Professor’s discretionary fund.
  • Only one application per Professor.

Conditions

  • The Summer Intern will present their work at a McISCE event during the Fall 2024 semester (TBD).
  • Supervisor and Summer Intern agree to have the title and description of the project posted on the McISCE website and included in the annual report.
  • Once the project is completed, the student will need to complete a survey about the experience.

  • The Summer Intern will work a minimum of 14 weeks, from May 1st to August 31st.
  • The Summer Intern will present their work during the McISCE Fall 2023 poster event (date TBD).
  • Supervisor and Summer Intern agree to have the title and brief description of the project posted on the McISCE website and included in the annual report.

  • by March 31, 2023 (5:00pm).
  • You will need to provide a short description of the project and its title. (Less than 100 words).
  • Ensure the project and student meet the eligibility criteria. Award decisions will be announced by April 14, 2023, at the latest. The $2,500 will be transferred to the Professor’s discretionary fund.
  • Only one application per Professor.

Eligibility criteria

  • Summer Intern must be a McGill student with at least one more semester to complete after the S2022.
  • Summer Intern should have a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0.
  • Summer Intern will work a minimum of 14 weeks, from May 1st to August 31st.
  • The summer internship project must fit in McISCE’s broad mission. Projects related to energy, but not directly to storage and conversion are also welcomed. Projects from Social Sciences and Humanities are welcomed!
  • Summer Interns will present their work during the McISCE Fall 2022 mini-symposium (date TBD). Supervisor and Summer Intern agree to have the title and brief description of the project posted on the McISCE website and included in the annual report.
