Dr. Anne Gatignol
Dr. Anne Gatignol is a Professor of Medicine. She is an internationally recognized scientist in the field of virology for her work on virus-cell interactions during HIV replication. Her current projects involve the innate cell response to HIV infection and the relationship between HIV and the RNA interference pathway. An applied program is to develop RNA-based technologies to counteract HIV replication and use them in gene therapy of HIV infection to reach a functional cure. Dr. Gatignol is actively involved in undergraduate and graduate teaching in the Microbiology & Immunology and the Experimental Medicine programs at McGill University. She also trains undergraduate students in her lab through research courses in Microbiology & Immunology.
