Research Group/Lab:
Our research falls in the broad area of mechanics of materials, multiphysics, and structural optimization, with a balance between fundamental and applied research. At the core of our work are theoretical analysis and computational mechanics, which we use to develop constitutive models that are validated via experiments. We are interested in the physics and multiscale mechanics of mechanical metamaterials (e.g., lattices, kirigami, and origami) and develop novel materials with controlled architecture for various sectors, such as aerospace, soft robotics, and packaging.
