Community of Support Program

The Social Accountability and Community Engagement Office (SACE) of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) at McGill University is committed to developing programs supporting equity and diversity to ensure an inclusive learning and work environment.

The Community of Support program (CoS) is aÌýcollaborative effort designed to provide prospective Black applicants with a network of support that seeks to break some of the salient institutional, cultural, and financial barriers to medical training. The specific aim of the pilot CoS program is to increase the representation of Black students within medicine.Ìý

The CoS program provides prospective applicants access to the following opportunities:

  • One-one application support through mentorship by medical students and physicians
  • Interview Preparation
  • CASPer Preparation Course (Summer 2022)
  • Research and volunteer experiences
  • Networking conferences and workshops
