Montreal Gazette - Curious case from Coke's past echoed in energy drinks

(Chemistry prof Joe Schwarcz's column in The Gazette): "The United States is well known for lawsuits but the U. S. vs. Forty Barrels and Twenty Kegs of Coca-Cola case launched in 1909 against the soft-drink company is one of the most curious in history. Neither the barrels nor the kegs were called to the witness stand, but numerous experts testified in the lawsuit aimed at forcing Coca-Cola to rid the beverage, not of cocaine, as one might think, but of caffeine…"
