While McGill researchers reveal that warm and moderate climate allowed dinosaurs to expand into a massive homogeneous community across North America, we get a peek into the mysteries of the little known habits of dinosaurs. The discovery, according to a statistical analysis of the fossil record, dispels the notion that dinosaurs were not adept at coping with all sorts of environments and that they were restricted in their geographic ranges. The discovery was made by Hans Larsson, professor, McGill University and Matthew Vavrek, a PhD student at the university. A laboratory project, the data came from the paleobiology database (), an online project to catalogue the known fossil record. The study itself took a number of years,as we were developing new ideas of how to test dinosaur provinciality, which others had not tried before, says Vavrek.
