Andraea van Hulst is an assistant professor at McGill University’s Ingram School of Nursing. She has extensive training and experience in population-based research on chronic diseases and associated lifestyle behaviours in children and adolescents and has an expertise in study design, statistical analysis, and data synthesis. Prof. van Hulst completed her nursing degree at McGill University and a PhD in public health at the University of Montreal. She is the recipient of several awards, notably the 4th ICPC/HSFC/CCS Fellowship in Preventive Cardiology award and the CCHCSP Rising Researcher award.

Current Research
Dr. van Hulst is part of several CIHR-funded collaborative research efforts. Her research focuses on identifying modifiable risk factors for obesity and its cardiovascular and metabolic consequences in pediatric populations. Based on a multi-level approach, findings from her research inform disease prevention and health promotion strategies, both through public health interventions and through clinical practice.
