Academic title(s):
Associate Professor

Areas of expertise:
My primary research interest lies in the modelling of spatial and spatio-temporal processes, both for point referenced (geostatistics) and areal data. Currently, I am working on the development of non-normal models for univariate and multivariate environmental spatio-temporal processes. In the areal data context I have been involved in the modelling of the number of cases of malaria and dengue fever in different regions of Brazil. In this setting, I am currently interested on problems arising from spatial confounding for non-normal data, more specifically, in spatial Poisson-lognormal and beta regression models.
