Areas of expertise:
We are interested in identifying the genetic determinants of common endocrine diseases and using this information to improve clinical care. These studies generally involve whole-genome sequencing and/or GWAS for gene identification of tens of thousands of individuals around the world. As a clinician-scientist-led program we try to focus on questions that can help patients. This has been achieved through Mendelian randomization (which studies the effect of modifiable exposures on disease), pharmacogenetics and early drug development programs with industry.
