My laboratory develops algorithms in computational biology for cancer studies, combining them with experimental approaches to systematically identify viable drug targets in the context of cancer therapeutics. We are especially interested in the regulation of and the role that metabolism plays in cancer. We are generating new datasets that help us explore the relationship between metabolism and expression, focusing on metabolic transcription factors. We are also exploring the ability to model metabolism on a genome-scale level, and to use these models to predict metabolic weaknesses and therapeutic approaches for breast cancer that can then be tested experimentally.
