Ann Seymour, Associate Professor

Ann is a professional with a diverse educational background. She holds an MBA in Executive Aboriginal Business and Leadership from Simon Fraser University, a Masters in Social Work from McGill University, a Bachelor of Social Work Honors from Carleton University, and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Lake Superior State University.

Ann has demonstrated her commitment to Indigenous health and well-being through various certifications, including Certified First Nations Health Manager, and a Certified Master Trainer and Cofacilitator in Mental Health First Aid for First Nations. She also holds a Certificate in Aboriginal Health and Community Administration from the University of British Columbia. Ann is a member and actively involved in volunteering with the Ontario Association of Social Workers, specifically on the Equity and Diversity Committee, and Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Ann looks forward to making a positive impact, working with Indigenous communities, dedicated to community development, and bridging the best of both worldviews: Indigenous and Western worldviews.

She is an Ojibwe from the Bear Clan. Her mother is an Indian Residential School Survivor from Mchigeeng First Nations and her (late) father is from Wikwemikong Unceded Territory. Ann is married and a mother to four children.
