Program Requirements
The Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Management focuses on a range of managerial skills to positively impact the quality, efficiency and fiscal responsibility of health care delivery. This includes: leading transformation, financial management and analysis, leading and managing people, conflict resolutions and negotiations, process analysis in health care settings, managing and improving quality in health care systems, and health management. The program will be offered in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine.

Overview
Accounting : Concepts of financial accounting to the non-accountant user of financial information. Fundamental knowledge of financial accounting, including financial statements, accounting “rules”, assets, liabilities and equity, the income statements as well as the financial statement analysis.

Overview
Business Admin : Preparation of a research proposal on a problem in any healthcare setting from problem statement to methodology. Implementation of the methodology, including sample selection, collecting data, and completing an appropriate data analysis. Drawing data-based conclusions and recommendations that address the problem statement. Presenting and defending the students’ research process, including findings, and recommendations.

Management Science : Why effective operations management is essential to delivering safe, high-quality, cost-effective and patient-centred care.
