Biography:

My research focuses on pediatric surgical care at national, provincial, and patient levels. Nationally, I aim to identify health inequities in access, quality, and cost of care across Canada. In Quebec, as a consultant for the Institut de la Santé Publique du Québec, I investigate non-intentional injuries, the leading cause of mortality in children. I also collaborate with Cree and Inuit communities in Northern Quebec to decrease the negative effects of medical displacement. At the patient level, as a specialist in pediatric colorectal surgery and Director of the Colorectal Center of Excellence (COCOE), I focus on patient-reported outcomes for children with Hirschsprung disease and anorectal malformations. My goal is to bridge identified gaps through educational efforts, public health campaigns, policy work, and clinical programs at the Montreal Children's Hospital, ensuring the best care for every child.
