My research focuses on the management of pelvic floor disorders. I am investigating different surgical techniques for the management of apical prolapse and studying decision- making needs of patients with urinary incontinence with the intent of developing patient decision aids, as well as the use of patient-centred outcome measures in clinical practice perioperatively.Â

Dr. Maryse Larouche is the Academic Director of the Division of Urogynecology, and Assistant Professor at McGill University. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from McGill University in 2009. This was followed by her Obstetrics & Gynaecology Residency at McGill, during which she received the Award for Excellence as a Resident Role Model. She completed a 2-year Fellowship in Urogynaecology / Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, as well as a Masters of Public Health degree, at the University of California, Berkeley, CA. Dr. Larouche practices as an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, and Urogynecologist at St. Mary’s Hospital, and also sees pregnancies and consultations at the ELNA Décarie Medical Clinic. Dr. Maryse Larouche leads urogynecology research at McGill, and received the Clinician-Scientist Salary Award from the St. Mary’s Research Centre 2019-2022. She is actively involved in academics through supervising trainees’ research, as well as in clinical teaching of students, residents, and fellows.Â
