Dr. Olivier Court obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from McGill University in 1995. He completed his General Surgery residency in Manitoba and received his certification in General Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2001. He then completed a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine in Manitoba (RCPSC certification in 2003). Dr. Court then went to Washington, DC, for fellowship training in Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery. He developed extensive experience in Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery, including Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch and revisional bariatric surgery. Dr. Court was appointed Assistant Professor of Surgery at McGill University and Attending Surgeon Royal Victoria Hospital (McGill University Health Center) in 2005. In 2005, Dr. Court was previously Director of Undergraduate Surgical Education at McGill University. Dr. Court was also an attending Intensivist at the MUHC and was in charge of the Intensive Care Unit for 16 weeks per year. He was previously site Director at the Royal Victoria Hospital for the Critical Care Fellowship program at McGill University, and he was the head of the "Blue Surgery" clinical teaching unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital Site of the MUHC.Â
