The Master of Science (M.Sc) program in Surgical and Interventional Sciences at McGill University is intended for people who wish to contribute to the scientific understanding of public health through original laboratory and/or field research. Whatever discipline you choose, you will be able to critically evaluate scientific literature, and to apply scientific knowledge in real-world settings.

This core stream will also prepare you to learn a powerful set of analytical, technical, and quantitative skills that can be applied flexibly in a wide range of career paths. Our graduates play leading roles in top academic and research institutions, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, health care organizations, government agencies, nongovernmental organizations, and other public and private sector enterprises.

Admission Requirements

Generally a B.Sc. in Life Sciences, M.D., or D.V.M. degree is required, with a minimum CGPA of 3.2/4.0. Applications will be accepted from candidates sponsored by a research supervisor willing to provide laboratory space and direction for their research work.
