MSc (Thesis) Surgical Education

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app

The Surgical Education concentration in The Department of Surgery’s Surgical and Interventional Sciences offers graduate level training leading to a Master's degree. Through course work, the candidate will be exposed to educational theory, assessment, and key environments that surgical training takes place in. Indeed, surgical education includes training in operating rooms, simulation centres, and technology-rich learning environments, such as Virtual Reality.

Surgical Education Master’s students will conduct a major research project (thesis) that identifies and investigates a relevant research problem to surgical education. Surgical education researchers are interesting in advancing and assessing the effectiveness, efficiency, and breadth of training opportunities of technical and non-technical skills along with optimizing the environments training occurs in. A project supervisor and an appropriate thesis project must be selected at the time of application. Students and supervisors collectively identify thesis projects.
