Current research: 

Professor Leask’s lab uses engineering principles and analyses to answer basic questions in biology and medicine. The core research is directed at the biomechanics and pathobiology of cardiovascular disease.  The laboratory is also actively involved in the design and testing of biomedical devices and biomaterials, the metabolomics of common xeonobiotics.

Biography: 

Richard Leask is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Associate Member of Biomedical Engineering and Researcher at the Montreal Heart Institute. 

His laboratory specializes in cardiovascular research (clinical and laboratory) and sustainable plastics. Prof. Leask is the chair of the McGill Committee on Student Discipline and Associate Chair of Chemical Engineering.  

His interest in mentorship stems from personal experience as an assistant professor and lifelong passion for coaching and teaching.
