Dr Paris is Emeritus Professor, Department of Psychiatry, McGill University. He is also a Research Associate, Department of Psychiatry, Jewish General Hospital, and an Associate Psychiatrist at the McGill University Health Center. His main research and clinical interest is borderline personality disorder, and he founded two clinics (at MUHC and JGH) to treat these patients
Dr. Paris obtained his psychiatric training at McGill. His current research interests include a project carrying out a controlled study of the outcome of stepped care treatment for BPD.
Dr. Paris is the author of 25 books, 50 book chapters, and 223 peer-reviewed articles.
He is no longer taking on students in research.
