Pr Kovess-Masfety is adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at McGill. She was the director of the epidemiology biostatics department at EHESP (French National School of Public Health) and of a Paris 5 university research center in epidemiology and policy design in mental health which trained PhD students. Currently, she is an associate research member at EA4057 Institute of Psychology at Paris Descartes University, Paris, France. She has extensive experience in psychiatric epidemiology and has been responsible for mental health surveys on large population samples in diverse places. She is a participant in many international surveys, European (ESEMED) and worldwide (WMH initiative) a joined WHO/ Harvard long lasting project. She has done surveys in France and Europe on adults and children populations as from some developing countries such as Afghanistan and she will collect data in Georgia in a close future . She is also doing research on use of care for mental health problems in developed and developing countries, suicidal behaviors, and the relationships between religions, religiosity and mental health. She can supervise graduate and postgraduate students who want to conduct surveys or analyze data already collected.
