MARKER

DNA methylation is a common epigenetic mechanism for gene silencing, representing a chemical alteration in critical positions in genomic regions that regulate gene expression. The MARKER (Methylation Analysis Revealing Key Epigenetic Regulation) study identified new methylation markers that discriminate among cervical lesion grades and could be used to develop algorithms for risk prediction among women referred to colposcopy.
