Academics can be very difficult, but I think it's very important to look outside of your courses for opportunities to apply the skills you are learning. That could mean anything, from getting involved in students clubs, to tutoring, to getting internships related to your field of study. C. Deane Pittman
B.Eng. (Mechanical); Minor in Management 1981

When I graduated in 1981, I had no firm plans for my career (I believe this is the norm).听 I was extremely fortunate to work for a company (P&G) that helped me work through the many things I was interested in as a career.听 They also helped me determine directions that I did not want in my career.听 It is not easy, but Career Planning will be the most important activity you can do to advance your career.听 The McGill Engineering Career Centre can help.听 Meet Deane
