Bitesize: Sink your teeth into your new city! Bitesize

Right after the Orientation week,  we will lead a small group of Bitesize MTL excursions, which will give you a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the flavor of an iconic Montreal neighbourhood, topped off by enjoying some quintessential local snacks in great company.

Please check the registrations closer to the date of the tours, as new spots may open up at the last moment.

Winter 2025 Orientation is your opportunity to get to know McGill University, meet new friends, and kick off your first year at McGill University! Join us for a services fair to get all the info youĂŰĚŇ´«Ă˝appl need to thrive in your first term, a welcome address, guest speakers, and lots of opportunities to connect with your peers. We can’t wait to welcome you! And lots of pizza of course!


Introduction to Culture Shock

Thousands of students move to Montreal every year and many have experienced culture shock, and even reverse culture shock when needing to re-adapt to life back at home. This workshop will allow you to share your experiences with culture shock and learn new tips and tricks to deal with it. We will hold space for conversations surrounding new environments, cultures, and the best ways to cope. This event is a safe space to connect with others in the community.


Hockey Night in Canada! hockey

Friday, January 10th, 6pm 
Brown Building (3600 Rue McTavish), Room 5001 followed by a Montreal Canadian's game next door at Gert's Bar

Join us and McGill Athletes as they explain the game of hockey! Learn a bit about the history, its cultural relevance here in Canada and some strategy. We'll enjoy some pizza and then head over to Gert's Pub next door to watch the Montreal Canadiens play a game.


Get your Social Insurance Number!

Where: Brown Building, 3600 Rue McTavish, 5th Floor
When: January 16th, 11am - 4pm

If you plan to work in Canada, you will need a Social Insurance Number (SIN).

Service Canada will be on-site in order to issue Social Insurance Numbers to International Students.
