Campus Recruitment Policies
The McGill Career Planning Service (CaPS) adheres to the Ethical Recruitment Guidelines of the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers , and thus expects the students and employers we serve to follow the guidelines which apply to them.
These guidelines are intended to provide a framework for the professional relationships between employers, students, third party recruiters and career educators. The guidelines are based on industry research, have been generally agreed upon by employers and educators, and are advocated by CACEE for national implementation.
The McGill Career Planning Service (CaPS) expects students to comply with the CACEE Ethical Recruitment Guidelines listed below. Failure to do so may result in disabling access to CaPS services, including access to myFuture.
Please also consult the Guidelines for employers and third party recruiters which can be found at: Employer Recruitment Policy

General information for students regarding jobs listed on myFuture
The McGill Career Planning Service (CaPS) strongly encourages students to thoroughly research companies to ensure that they make well-informed employment decisions.
CaPS prepares the information contained in the myFuture jobs listings database from information supplied by employers. Before posting positions, we follow up with any employer whose information seems incomplete or “suspicious”, but we cannot guarantee that problems will not arise. Should you encounter any difficulties with the employers on myFuture, or find inaccuracies, please contact the CaPS office immediately. We will investigate any complaints about organizations sent to us by students and we will ban any employers whose practices seem fraudulent, unethical or illegal. CaPS reserves the right to decide which job advertisements are posted on myFuture.
Students should be aware that we will also investigate any complaints about students that we receive from organizations, the results of which could lead to the disabling of a student’s myFuture account and other disciplinary actions.
In conclusion, CaPS reserves the right to refuse access to CaPS' services and programs; this applies to both students and employers.
