The Managing Disruption: Analytics, Advanced Digital Technologies and AI (AAAI) aims to promote and support academic research, teaching activities, intra- and inter-university collaborations, and industry and community engagements related to artificial intelligence (AI), analytics, and advanced digital technologies such as blockchain, Internet of things (IoT), and Metaverse.
The initiative encourages faculty research that leverages advanced technologies and foster collaborations both inside and outside the faculty, facilitate the inclusion of advanced technologies in classroom and pedagogical practices, and undertake outreach with external communities to both disseminate academic knowledge and obtain practical oriented insights to further advance the objective of this initiative in the faculty.
Our initiative targets a wide range of short-term goals:
- Organize Seminars and Workshops: Host a series of seminars and workshops targeted at students to enhance their understanding in the practical business applications of AI, analytics, and emerging technologies like blockchain.
- Support Student-Led Initiatives: Facilitate and provide resources for student-led events and activities that focus on exploring the business aspects of these technologies fostering a student-driven learning and networking environment.
- Expand Outreach and Engagement: Actively engage with the broader McGill community and relevant industry partners to foster collaborative relationships, share knowledge, and aid the Desautels community remain attuned to the evolving landscape of disruptive technologies.
- Research Promotion: Promote and support research at Desautels and facilitate the formation of cross-disciplinary research working groups.
