How to Apply (Undergraduate)

Have you chosen your program, read about costs, checked the admission requirements and deadlines? Are your application materials in order? If so, you are ready to apply!

Deadline: January 15

Applicants who wish to audition on campus are advised to apply as soon as possible.

Step 1: Get your supporting materials together. You will need to upload them after you apply online.

Step 2:  Complete McGill University's  in English or French. You will need to first create an account before submitting your application. McGill's application guide will help you along the way. You can only apply to one program at a time.

Step 3: Pay the application fee and audition fee via credit card. NOTE: If you do not submit payment your application is not considered as officially submitted.

Step 4: You can return to your account and submit an application to a new program. The application fee covers two program choices, and the audition fee is only charged once. If you wish to submit more than two program choices, an additional application fee will be charged.

Submit supporting materials

Deadline: February 1

Most supporting material can be uploaded/entered through your application after your application has been submitted and paid for. A checklist of required items will appear in each application. The only documents you do not upload are the music education letter of support, this will be uploaded directly to McGill by your referee and Test Scores: SATs, ACTs, APs or Proof of English Proficiency (Duolingo, IELTS, TOEFL). All test scores must be sent directly to McGill by the College Board or test centre.

When submitting your recorded audition, composition portfolio or your portfolio for the Music Studies program, please upload all pieces to your application portfolio at the same time. You cannot go back into your portfolio and add pieces after the initial upload.
